… we barely made it away……
For once I was sure that everything would turn out just fine…
But that was my biggest miscalculation.
I didn't expect the appearance of the Leader of the opposite faction.

I was glad for once that I managed to switch just in time.
And even though we barely managed to escape, Chester suffered from most of the damage.

"…… there's nothing we can without Alice, isn't it…? And even Erviella is not here… why are we still alive, Schro? Why are we still here even though they're already dead…?"

None of them wished for us to vanish, Chester.
They wished for us to live.

"… I wonder if there's any meaning for us to stay alive if they're not around anymore… they were our everything, isn't it? They gave us everything… and yet… we kept on living and ended up leaving them behind…"

… there was nothing we can do, Chester.
What happened to them, it was unavoidable.
If I could, I would do something to save them – to keep them alive so they could stay.
But there was nothing I could do…

"… hey, Schro… I want to meet them… I miss them, Schro… I want to see those two, Alice and Erviella…"

… if it's possible, I would like to see them too…
But Chester, there's nothing we could do –

"…… they're… already not around, aren't they, Schro? I wonder… I wonder if we ceased existing, then we could get to the place where they are right now……"

Without me able to say anything, Chester vanished.
And there was nothing I could do.
What's left of him is nothing more than a faint consciousness.

There's no way to retrieve him back except he wanted to make it back.

There was nothing I could do.
If this is really the case, then as an imaginary being, I should claim that reality is cruel.
Without allowing me to protect those I deemed precious, they allowed me to exist.
I have been wounded so severe I don't know how I am supposed to contain my sanity any more.

Alice Liddel, Erviella Schrodinger, and Chester.
I was not able to protect the three of them.
There are only two choices I have left.
To keep existing or to just let it go.

There are lives that are worth dying more than living.
And the life of an imaginary being like me…
I'm pretty sure it's not even worthwhile.

But there's a hand that was offered to me.
That hand might be able to save what's left of that consciousness.
To give him hope and bring him back.

His current state is undoubtedly nothing more than a frightened child.
Deeply fearing something unknown to him.
And looking for salvation from those he deemed as his precious.
Unaware that it caused him to stop existing all at the same time.

Although we are imaginary, we are not omnipotent.
There are limits of what we can do.
Our existence is severely limited to our hosts.
And at this point, there's nothing we could do but relying upon the other people.

Bringing Chester to her was probably the right choice.
But much to my surprise, it only worked for a moment.

His consciousness was reverted back to normal only for a short while.
And by the end of the day, he decided to bid farewell just as well to her.

"…… I wonder… if Rina Onee-chan would be sad since we couldn't tell her that we're going to see Alice and Erviella…"

…… she will.
Undoubtedly, I think she will.

"Don't you think that it's a little sad if we go just like this? Going away without actually saying goodbye to her… I… I think she'd be really sad when she find out that she wouldn't even be able to remember about us anymore, right…?"

None of us was brave enough to tell her the truth.
The simple fact that we're going to vanish.
That once we stopped existing, no one would be able to remember about us anymore.

"…… i-it can't be helped then, right… S-Schro?"

I closed my eyes.
Once again, I was reminded of my helplessness.
And once again, there's nothing I could do.

"Rina Onee-chan…"

Chester moved slightly from his spot.
Sitting up before switching his sight to the blue-haired girl sleeping beside him.

"Mmm… I love you, NyanNyan…"

Chester can't help but widening his eyes slightly.
Taking a moment before placing his cheek upon hers.
Rubbing it slightly as he could feel tears slowly flowing from his eyes.

"Rina Onee-chan… staying by your side made me extremely happy. You were like the whole world for me. I would enjoy staying by your side a little longer, just a little longer. Even just a few seconds is fine… but I suppose it's impossible by now."

'Chester, you…'

Eventually, Chester moved away.
Jumping down from the bed before sitting upon the floor.
Giving the beloved girl one last sight before eventually forcing a smile.

"Rina Onee-chan… please don't worry. My body might probably vanish and of course, my existence would be nullified… but these feelings are mine and mine alone. I won't let anyone or anything take it away from me."

'Chester… I'm sorry.'

"………… lo…ve… y……ou… Rina……nee…chan………"
